Tell us a bit about yourself: This is Emma and my third year of participation in the "Driving for Kids" fund raiser for Roundup River Ranch which is a medically-supported Colorado mountain camp for children with chronic and life- threatening illnesses located in Gypsum, CO, The camp is part of Paul Newman's global community of medical specialty camps. This is such a worthwhile cause. It very rewarding to see the joy and smiles on both the kids and their parents faces. Last year Emma and I were able to raise almost $50,000 for the kids with two builders agreeing to match the "Driving for Kids" total contributions. We thank everyone that supported Emma, me, the kids, and the ranch. This year we are driving a 1967 Austin Healey 3000 Mark III BJ8. I bought the Austin Healey from a dealer in Reno, Nevada sight unseen and had it delivered. When it showed up at my office, Emma thought it was Ross Robbins' who was working with me at the time. Ops, I forgot to tell her I bought the car (It isn't the first time for me). Anyway, the car replaces the 1966 Austin Healey we took our honeymoon in 48 years ago. To my surprise, this Healey is one of the only 552 "Special Edition" metallic golden beige cars built at the end of the cars production. Everything on the car except the white paint is original down to the igitition key. Once the 3-day 600-mile tour through the Colorado Mountains at high Fall colors with the other British car enthusiasts to raise funds for Roundup River Ranch is complete, I will take the car off the road to have it refurbished back to its original look and feel. Please join the Shindig Rover team to help the chronic and life-threatening ill kids enjoy the magic of camp and the joys of childhood. The week long camping experience which is free for the children and family costs $2,500. Emma and I would like to support at least two children this year with our fund raising. Last year with the unbelievable charity of our builder friends we were able to support 20 children.

Tell us a bit about yourself: Ross and Ann Robbins are longtime Lotus owners who have driven almost all the roads in Colorado and surrounding states in their old cars. Driving for Kids is their creation intended to join with other vintage British car owners and hit the road while doing good and giving these sick kids a free week at a safe medical camp is what we call doing good. We are especially excited to show the kids at camp our cool old cars of many colors! Kids and cars...what a great combination!

Tell us a bit about yourself: This is the third year Carolyn and I have participating in Driving For Kids. For those of you that aren't familiar with ROUNDUP RIVER RANCH, it is a camp to enable children with severe health issues to get outside and have some "regular kid fun!". The camp is truly amazing. The doctors and nurses volunteer their time and the camp is run completely on donations! The work that is done to enable the kids to have normal out doors fun, regardless of individual challenges, is so heart warming it is impossible to visit the camp and not get teared up. Carolyn and I have visited the camp twice now. All the funds raised by the Driving For Kids effort goes to the camp.... 100%. Every little bit helps these deserving kids.

Tell us a bit about yourself: This June myself, my wife, father-in-law and grandson had the privilege of spending a day at RRR and interacting with a group of kids with cardiac challenges in a carnival. It was a wonderful experience and makes the Driving for Kids even more meaningful for me. Each week the challenges are different ie cancer, lung and other medical challenges. This is my second year of Driving for Kids. Once again I am planning on taking my Westfield Super 7 on the journey. This is a car with no heater, defroster, radio and little to no trunk. Last year we were challenged with snow and slush over the passes that filled the car with 3 inches of water. I believe I have corrected this problem for this years trip. My good friend for almost 40 years, Norm Balvin will join me this year on the trip. We have over the years done many road trips to Formula 1, Indy and many other car related road trips. That being said, Driving for Kids will be the most important trip we have ever done since it helps Roundup River Ranch Continue to give the kids an amazing experience. Please donate to our cause.

Tell us a bit about yourself: We have enjoyed driving British cars even before we met. Together we raced an Austin Healey Sprite with RMVR. We enjoy an Austin Healey 3000 Mark III. Trisha has even raced a '65 Morris Cooper. This Ford Anglia is our latest acquisition. What better way to enjoy this car than to 'Drive For Kids' across Colorado to raise funds!

Tell us a bit about yourself: I have always been into cars, but about 10 years ago got his first Lotus. I love the look of the cars and the ability to be able to work on them. With two boys ages 7 and 8, looking for a 4 seater car, I found the Elan Plus 2 to be a perfect fit. A car to work on with the boys and something they can also ride along in. I am extremely grateful for the health and well-being of my kids and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend time then raising money for kids and driving with some British cars.

Team Name: The Japanese Elan

Tell us a bit about yourself: I've owned a number of British cars but don't currently own one. I joined LOCO when I built a Caterham 7 SV, a follow on to the Lotus 7. I will be driving a 2016 Mazda Miata in this event which is a spiritual ancestor of the Lotus Elan, thus the name of the team. This will be my first Driving for Kids event and I'm looking forward to the event and the support of my friends and family to raise funds for this worthy cause. I have never before campaigned for any cause but this one has touched my heart. For those of you that aren't familiar with ROUNDUP RIVER RANCH, it is a camp to enable children with severe health issues to get outside and have some "regular kid fun!". The camp is truly amazing. The doctors and nurses volunteer their time and the camp is run completely on donations! The work that is done to enable the kids to have normal out doors fun, regardless of individual challenges. Tell us a bit about yourself: We have a long history of working with and for children dealing with challenges. Roundup River Ranch is a great way to support that effort. Please consider helping us support the ranch and the kids. We also have a long history with British sports cars. We have owned and rallied several, and now, Sue has a modern Mini Cooper for her daily driver. When not driving sports cars, we spent years at racetracks helping them race. We look forward to visiting the ranch again this year on our 600 mile rally drive for the kids through the mountains of Colorado. Our friends and family helped us exceed our fundraising goal last year. Thank you for your support of us and the kids at the ranch.

Tell us a bit about yourself: Well, I was looking for a drive to participate in using my Lotus Elan Plus 2. I came across this great drive in Colorado that raises funds for a kid's camp. This camp isn't for every kid, it's for ones that really need to get away and experience life differently. Check it out. And make a donation to this great service that the Roundup River Ranch is providing. I'll let you know how the drive goes!

Tell us a bit about yourself: Some may call us crazy. We just finished our 1960 Austin Healey 3000 BN7 after a 40 year slumber. We have decided to take our first road trip of 600+ miles in support of a fundraiser for kids who are medically challenged. This fundraiser is for RoundUp River Ranch in Gypsum, CO. (www.roundupriverranch.org) The ranch is a member of the SeriousFun Children's Network and affiliated with the Hole in the Wall Gang camps started by Paul Newman. All donations are 100% tax deducible and all donations go direct to the charity. Wish us luck! Thanks for your support of a good cause.
